My Road to Johnny Bigg USA!

Looking back on 2019 I must say I achieved three big accomplishments that I’m still proud to have obtained. I never expected to have made all these things happen since creating my blog, yet I’m ever so thankful and grateful for all that I have gained.

First shooting with Liris Crosse, in what was our ode to Naomi Campbell and Tyson Beckford turned into use getting the cover of Plus Model Mag’s Sexy Summer Issue in July! We shoot the photos at Egg Studio in Brooklyn, New York in January 2019 the shoot was amazing and the photographer Tarrice Love did a great job bringing out our vision for the shoot.

Shortly after the Plus Model Mag Cover, I received news that I was nominated for two Full-Figure Industry Award: Emerging Male Model of the Year & Male Blogger of the Year. I was extremely excited about both nominations and the ceremony was being held in New York in November and I love to have a reason to visit NYC!! I ended up walking away with the Model of the Year Award which I was very happy with, while my fellow blogger/friend from Kirk from XL Tribe took home Male Blogger of the Year which he definitely deserved.

As the year was coming to an end I received an unexpected dm, from Kerry of Johnny Bigg USA, it definitely caught me off guard because you never know what to expect on Instagram these days lol. But it turns out that Kerry was a godsend for me, she gave me an opportunity that many others have overlooked me on over and over again. I’ve been told that I’m too tall, that they can’t fit me in their clothes by other brands, but Kerry said no you’re perfect I want to book you for this campaign for the Johhny Bigg USA release!
